If Ya'll Could Be My Friends

In the blog world, sometimes it can get kinda lonely reading about all the good times, amazing clothes, and laughs that other bloggers share. Sometimes I just sorta wanna be in the same place and you know ... be real life amigas. So who would I want in my circle?

Ashley from Adventures in Newlyweds! She's got the best style and a pretty cute pup!

Lauren from Busy Bee Lauren! This girl would have me in laughter pains.

Nicole from Running in Heels! Homegirl and I are already amigas, but it's been 2 years
since we've seen each other. I'm gonna convince her to run across the country and visit me!
Raven from A Momma's Desires and Pacifiers! This momma needs to live right next door.
I laugh so damn hard reading about her life, kids, boobs and boo.

Ashley from Run With Me! Oh my would we have some fun. First I'd borrow all her clothes,
then lay poolside for hours, grab some ice cream, and make fun of everyone around us.

Sarah from SkinnyRunner! Currently she's in Alaska fishing with her fam,
but no matter if we were sailing the seasor making fun of boys, this girl needs to be my bff.

And Jenna from Eat, Live, Run! Basically I would chat her ear off while she whips up one of her
amazing dishes, I'd tell her 100x that I was the winner of her bread pan giveaway,
and then I would devour her amazing food. This could be on repeat every weekend!

So amigas ... want to plan a meet and become besties?

Friday Fav - I Like Turtles

Happy Friday, Folks! I couldn't be happier that the weather is cooling down and I'm only 6 days away from seeing my family and 2 best friends tie the knot with their loves!!!

So it's been awhile since I've posted a Friday Fav highlighting something I've fallen in love with, or fallen for. I've been drawn to this particular repitle/print for some time now, but I just re-watched this infamous video for a little chuckle, and it got my mind thinking of my love.

1) Watch Video:

2) Now I really do like turtles, but not as much as I love the tortoise print. To give you a little taste of what I'm loving lately, feast your eyes on my Friday Fav - I Like Turtles.

These Ashbury "Davidson" shades make my heart skip a beat.
I love a fun bangle. This beauty would be the best accessory to any outfit.
I'd always have the time rocking this Michael Kors timepiece.
My phone has never been so loved.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Today I Am Thankful

Life ... you're picking up. When I started Three Bracelets I really wanted to switch my gears and focus on the good in life. You know the "glass half-full" outlook. While I've had some ups and downs, I've really tried to stay with this goal and think bigger picture.
As my blood boiled over some petty issue at work earlier this week, I thought about this outlook. Sometimes you get hung up on the little things and don't realize that at the end of the day ... it's simply not worth it.

So as I look ahead and really focus on my glass being (more than) half-full, I just want to say I'm pretty darn grateful for my life. I've got the most amazing set of parents any kid could hope for, a boy I love more than my heart ever thought possible, friends who know how to make me laugh to the point of peeing my pants, a job I care about and enjoy, a (cute) home roof over my head, plenty of food in my cabinets and ice cream pints in my freezer, and a blog I really do love having around. This blog has definitely one of the best outlets and consistent reminder. I first wrote to you here about life being half-full, and mine ... well it's spilling over the rim!

Because Thursdays are my favorite day of the week, I just have to say that:

Friday Fav - Why Can't We Be Friends?

Happy Friday, Friends! This week, just like the last one, flew by! If you've kept up with Three Bracelets, you might be surprised I'm dedicating a post to Baltimore, MD. If you're knew, consider yourself in for a treat! Today's Friday Fav is a little bit of a trip down memory lane and a new outlook.

Baltimore and I are coming up on our 2-Year-Anniversary and while the time has gone by so fast, the journey has been somewhat of an "it's complicated" one. I moved to Baltimore because of love. I met a boy, decided I wanted to see him more than once-a-month, packed up my life, and drove across the country. I landed my country bumpkin toes in Charm City and was scared sh*tless. Fast forward to now, there isn't a week that goes by where I haven't complained, cried, whined and most likely driven Mike crazy (along with my parents who handle my 2 am phone calls) with my love/hate relationship.

So after last week's Friday Fav post, I was asked by several friends and readers 1) are you depressed, and 2) what do you like about Baltimore? Well folks, 1)I'm definitely not depressed (thank goodness and thank you for your concern), and 2) you got me thinking long and hard about Baltimore and what I like most about her.

Baltimore, I keep asking you why can't we be friends, but at the end of the day ... perhaps it's just me. So this post goes out you, my little Friday Fav, and everything I like and love about you. I mean after all, we are coming up on a big milestone so let's throw the past out the window and celebrate what's ahead!

1. Your picture perfect harbor. Only knowing dry hills as my previous back yard, your harbor has been the most pleasant wake-up call.

2. Your crabs. MmmmHmmmm! Coming from a state where potatoes are what puts you on the map, I'm so happy to now have the option of cracking open a crab and going hog wild.

3. Laurie DeYoung. This homegirl has been rocking the airwaves of WPOC (country station) for 25+ years. You might take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl.
Laurie on the left. My handwriting on the check!

4.Your seasons. Okay maybe just 2 of your seasons. Fall and spring out here are the best. While I hate the summer humidity and lack of mountains nearby in the winter, your fall and spring's weather, colors and smells definitely make up for it.

5. You're my home! I think it's time I admit that home really is where the heart is. I left Idaho because I was looking for a change of pace and new challenges. I never thought I'd end up in Baltimore, but now that we're coming up on 2 years I am so thankful my feet landed here. Whether it's a boy, your landscape, your food, your DJ's, or your seasons ... you've given me a home that has been unlike any other.

I might just be coming around to your infamous slogan:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Nails - Peaches and Cream

For a girl who loves nail polish as much as I do, it's weird that I schedule a break-up every summer to give my nails a breather. I keep color on all winter long as the air feels stale and the cold seems too harsh, but the summer is also about extra humidity and a nice (sometimes cool) breeze. I've heard this is the time nail break-ups are preferred ... so it's what I give.

Well, my break lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and then I came across Essie's Tart Deco at Target.

My obsession with peaches and cream color combo seen here:

Turned into this:

Do you ever give your nails a break? What are your favorite nail color combos?

Friday Fav - Finding that Spark

Happy Friday!

This week is almost over, woohoo! It was a tough one having a break mid-week, but it was still a great one - except for Monday and Tuesday. Remember that homesickness bug I sometimes write about and throw myself a pity party for? It crept back up on me. When people compare life to a roller-coaster (I'm that person), homesickness is like the uphill part of the ride. Trying to figure out when things will pick up ... it's that waiting game wishing for the good.

So this week, while wishing I was back on the (north)west coast, riding my bike on the Greenbelt, enjoying my favorite breakfast courtesy of Big City, and trekking through Boise's foothills, I started to cry. I took out my sadness on Mike, told him our B-more contract needed to be reviewed, and thought about the rest of my life. Ha! Of course Monday and Tuesday passed and I was a happy camper come Wednesday.

What happened that quickly changed things and kicked this h-bug to the curb? A little spark of hope. I'm hopeful that the rest of my life is a long one. I'm hopeful that B-more isn't "home" forever. I'm hopeful that Mike and I can pack up our bags (and hopefully Nugget) one day and test out the waters of another city, or 10. I'm hopeful that my family somehow ends up in the same city one day. I'm hopeful that whatever comes my way, I've got what it takes to make the best out of it. And ... I'm oh so hopeful that this little spark follows me along the way.

I have so much to be thankful for and even when the days get tough or that homesickness bug creeps up on me, I've got to remember in order to know the good, you've got to experience the bad.

Today's Friday Fav is all about Finding that Spark! Whether it's a spark of hope, gratitude, determination, the list goes on ... I hope you've got it tucked away in your pocket for a rainy day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Without Power.

Last week our temperatures hit a high of 100+ and then Mother Nature dumped in a little humidity. What did we get on Friday night as a result? One of the craziest rain/wind storms I've ever seen. Last fall the East Coast prepped itself for Hurricane Irene. What Friday night's storm, she'll remain nameless, brought on was worse than anything Irene threw our way. On my run this morning I snapped this photo. This sums up how Maryland looks right now.

What I couldn't capture with this picture is the amount of people who have lost power.

Remember that rain dance I requested for Colorado in my Friday Fav? Could you please continue doing that, but also add in a crossed finger or prayer that we get some power pumped back in the lines quickly? Thank you!

Hope you all had a wonderful and safe weekend!
