Friday Fav - Why Can't We Be Friends?

Happy Friday, Friends! This week, just like the last one, flew by! If you've kept up with Three Bracelets, you might be surprised I'm dedicating a post to Baltimore, MD. If you're knew, consider yourself in for a treat! Today's Friday Fav is a little bit of a trip down memory lane and a new outlook.

Baltimore and I are coming up on our 2-Year-Anniversary and while the time has gone by so fast, the journey has been somewhat of an "it's complicated" one. I moved to Baltimore because of love. I met a boy, decided I wanted to see him more than once-a-month, packed up my life, and drove across the country. I landed my country bumpkin toes in Charm City and was scared sh*tless. Fast forward to now, there isn't a week that goes by where I haven't complained, cried, whined and most likely driven Mike crazy (along with my parents who handle my 2 am phone calls) with my love/hate relationship.

So after last week's Friday Fav post, I was asked by several friends and readers 1) are you depressed, and 2) what do you like about Baltimore? Well folks, 1)I'm definitely not depressed (thank goodness and thank you for your concern), and 2) you got me thinking long and hard about Baltimore and what I like most about her.

Baltimore, I keep asking you why can't we be friends, but at the end of the day ... perhaps it's just me. So this post goes out you, my little Friday Fav, and everything I like and love about you. I mean after all, we are coming up on a big milestone so let's throw the past out the window and celebrate what's ahead!

1. Your picture perfect harbor. Only knowing dry hills as my previous back yard, your harbor has been the most pleasant wake-up call.

2. Your crabs. MmmmHmmmm! Coming from a state where potatoes are what puts you on the map, I'm so happy to now have the option of cracking open a crab and going hog wild.

3. Laurie DeYoung. This homegirl has been rocking the airwaves of WPOC (country station) for 25+ years. You might take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl.
Laurie on the left. My handwriting on the check!

4.Your seasons. Okay maybe just 2 of your seasons. Fall and spring out here are the best. While I hate the summer humidity and lack of mountains nearby in the winter, your fall and spring's weather, colors and smells definitely make up for it.

5. You're my home! I think it's time I admit that home really is where the heart is. I left Idaho because I was looking for a change of pace and new challenges. I never thought I'd end up in Baltimore, but now that we're coming up on 2 years I am so thankful my feet landed here. Whether it's a boy, your landscape, your food, your DJ's, or your seasons ... you've given me a home that has been unlike any other.

I might just be coming around to your infamous slogan:

Have a wonderful weekend!
